It's a good thing that the major manufacturers don't have Us on any of their design committees, because when they try to pull stunts like this it'd end in someone getting slapped upside the head with a rubber chicken.
Meet the Haier HCR2250ADS. Never have We ever seen a more unabashedly condescending product. In a board room somewhere, someone decided that hip young Millennials are going to be the upcoming appliance buying demographic real soon now, so there ought to be designed a hip and young apartment sized range to go in their hip and young loft apartments. Everyone else in the room agreed. Unfortunately, no one in the room seemed to know what hip and young Millennials actually want in a apartment sized range. In fact, nobody present seemed to know what anyone wants in an apartment sized range.
Youngsters like Japanese stuff, right? I mean, you can't swing a dead cat downtown without hitting some kind of Asian fusion restaurant. So let's throw a wok ring on there. And we'll make it dual fuel, because all the big boys make professional dual-fuel ranges. Clearly everyone's apartment has both a 240 line and a gas fitting crammed in there. Ventilation requirements? The landlord surely won't mind. Let's give it true convection and call it "European style," because if there's anything those crazy kids like more than Japan it's the Europeans. (Hey, it works for Ikea.)
But then let's slap a price tag on it of around a grand. Positioning it as a premium product is a bold move. But let's not get too crazy. We'll cut costs by not including any kind of self-cleaning.
And that noise you just heard was the sound of every single person's interest evaporating. What were they thinking?
It's as if the world isn't already stuffed full of bargain-basement apartment size stoves that are too cheap to include self-cleaning. We can get you into one of those for less than half the price of this thing. Possibly even a third. Omitting the cleaning function makes this model just scream "poseur." It's not really a high end, high performance premium product at all, is it? No, admit it. It's just another cheap, creaky apartment sized mini-stove... but it's wearing a silly hat.

Hidden Bake Element - The heating element is located beneath the oven floor, where it is protected from spills, drips, and impacts that could result in costly damage. This leaves the bottom of the oven clean and smooth, better looking, and easier to clean. |
|
Convection Cooking - Utilizes a built in fan to circulate hot air throughout the oven compartment during baking and roasting. Convection results in more even cooking results even across multiple racks. |
